My name is Mitchell and I have lived around the Sheepshead Bay/Brighton Beach area of Brooklyn my whole life. I am glad to be in the city for college since my Russian community in Brooklyn is much different culturally and I have always wanted to live in and explore the city. I enjoy many things in NYC, such as the various cultural institutions, comedy clubs, nightlife, multitude of foods and pretty much anything else you need.

I enjoyed the first Macaulay seminar last semester as I got to experience several art mediums, whether it was dance performances, museums, or art galleries. I am looking forward to this seminar and learning more about the interconnected neighborhoods we have, their histories, and their present day significance.

The featured image is from the High Line, a site we visited for the first seminar; I have since gone back several times and introduced it to my friends who also didn’t know it existed. It is a very enjoyable walk with many cool art pieces and unique buildings surrounding it.
