I’m an urban sociologist at Hunter College, CUNY. I’m also the director of People of New York City, a unique interdisciplinary seminar offered by Macaulay Honors College at Hunter. I received my Ph.D. from Princeton and my B.A. from Wesleyan University. Before becoming a full-time nerd, I was a press officer for Doctors Without Borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres USA, and before that, I briefly worked as a journalist and factchecker for outlets such as The Nation and Harpers magazine. Here’s a recent(ish) copy of my CV.
