Hi, I’m Rebecca! I was born and raised in Brooklyn, where I lived for eighteen years, until my family moved to Long Island. Before coming to Hunter, I rarely ever visited the city and spent most of my time exploring all that Brooklyn has to offer. I never thought that I would like the loud and never-sleeping city, but now that I’ve experienced it, I know that I will never experience anything else like it.
After my first semester Macaulay seminar, I can definitely say that I have gone places I didn’t think I would have the opportunity to see. I loved exploring the high line, even though the heat made it almost unbearable in those beginning days of the fall semester, and I absolutely loved going to the Opera for the first time with my class. It was truly amazing getting to see the creativity and liveliness of New York through a different light. This semester, I am excited to learn more about the individual neighborhoods of New York and how they shaped the city as a whole. I can’t wait to learn more about the flourishing culture of the city through this seminar!
Attatched is a picture of when I went to the Movie Night at Hudson Yards. Watching “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” surrounded by dimly lit buildings at night was definitely one of my favorite memories of the first semester.
