Hi, I’m Siya! Even though I’ve lived in New York my whole life, specifically around Rego Park, I’ve only explored select parts of the city like Manhattan and some parts of Queens. I went to high school in the Bronx, but still didn’t explore much besides just the surrounding area of my school. For years, I’ve seen the city through a bubble, my own and of those around me. I’m looking forward to seeing the city in a different light, learning more about what it has to offer, and how it came to be what it is today. I love trying new places to eat around the city and dragging all my friends to come try the food with me. It goes without saying, but I have a very long list of “to try” places around the city, even in neighborhoods I haven’t explored. In the seminar class last semester, I was able to visit a lot of different places in the city that I had never been to or even heard about. I was able to see many shows and galleries which was really exciting. I hope to visit new places in New York this semester as well.
The picture I’ve attached is of somewhere in the met (I really couldn’t tell you where because I get lost every time I go there).
