Hello, my name is Nicole

My more casual interests concerning NYC primarily falls under the theme of travel and exploration. I’ve spent almost all my life circling the same three places and was generally scared to explore new towns/neighborhoods. I only REALLY visited Brooklyn for the first time two weeks ago and found myself spending hours in the McNally Jackson bookstore in Albee Square. I hope to continue exploring the city with a focus on more underrated neighborhoods. As for my more academic goals, I hope to explore the issue of gentrification as it is actively affecting many of the neighborhoods that raised me (e.g, Queens’ Chinatown, Flushing).
